Raveningham Sculpture Trail is an established annual exhibition of contemporary artworks through 3 acres of semi-wild meadows, gardens and woodland in the grounds of Castell Farm, a Tudor farmhouse at The Raveningham Centre on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk. The trail is curated by Sarah Cannell and is a Creative Odyssey CIC Project – Arts projects in nature to inspire and soothe the soul. This year features 60 selected artists from across the UK creating diverse site specific artworks for the trail and 2 pop-up gallery spaces. An uplifting, inspiring space for people to experience contemporary art in a rural setting.
As our personal and collective creative journeys have been thrown off course or changed tack wildly this year we are continuing our Creative Odyssey at Raveningham by thinking particularly about the importance and instinctive drive to create a safe place, shelter, home, nest, space, spiritual or natural haven. Artist’s will be responding to this theme and the magical natural site at Raveningham thinking about the flora/fauna which have lifted our spirits celebrating everything from the tiny Fungi in the woods to the beautiful Red Kites and Marsh Harriers above. Artworks will be in the form of sculpture, site specific works, stories, magic, sound, light, film and more for the meadows, pond, gardens, and woodland at Raveningham.
Book one timeslot (£6 + Eventbrite fee) which admits one person then visit with up to 5 additional people (max. group size 6 per timeslot). Pay for additional guests at the box office on arrival. In the current climate it is of the utmost importance to us that artists and visitors alike are able to visit the trail safely. For this reason we have decided to keep the timeslot booking system we put in place last year to ensure everyone has a relaxing visit and that we keep the numbers of people on site manageable and spread out. The 3 acre trail route through meadows, gardens and woods is one way and the pop up gallery will be open but we ask that visitors wear masks when looking around the gallery. There is enough room to safely socially distance outside with the recommended 2m space between visitors you can talk as long as you like to walk the trail.
