Call for Artists 2022 – Applications now open – APPLY HERE
Raveningham Sculpture Trail is an established annual exhibition of contemporary artworks through 3 acres of semi-wild meadows, gardens and woodland in the grounds of Castell Farm, a Tudor farmhouse at The Raveningham Centre on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk. The trail is curated by Sarah Cannell and is a Creative Odyssey CIC Project – Arts projects in nature to inspire and soothe the soul. This year will feature 60 selected artists from across the UK creating diverse site specific artworks for the trail and 2 pop-up gallery spaces. An uplifting, inspiring space for people to experience contemporary art in a rural setting.
As our personal and collective creative journeys have been thrown off course or changed tack wildly over the past couple of years we are continuing our Creative Odyssey at Raveningham by thinking particularly about journeys. Creative journeys as our community of artists continue dreaming, thriving and inspiring us, imagined or dream journeys, spiritual journeys and for some of us actual journeys. Artist’s will be responding to this theme and the magical natural site at Raveningham thinking about the flora/fauna which have lifted our spirits celebrating everything from the tiny Fungi in the woods to the beautiful Red Kites and Marsh Harriers above. Artworks will be in the form of sculpture, site specific works, stories, magic, sound, light, film and more for the meadows, pond, gardens, and woodland at Raveningham.

In the current climate it is of the utmost importance to us that artists and visitors alike are able to visit the trail safely. For this reason we have decided to keep the timeslot booking system we put in place last year to ensure everyone has a relaxing visit and that we keep the numbers of people on site manageable and spread out. The 3 acre trail route through meadows, gardens and woods is one way and the pop up gallery will be open but we ask that visitors wear masks when looking around the gallery. There is enough room to safely socially distance outside with the recommended 2m space between visitors you can talk as long as you like to walk the trail.
